OUDTSHOORN: REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL FOR OGRANIC WASTE DIVERSION – ALTERNATIVE WASTE MANAGEMENT TECHNOLOGY (AS PER DEPARTMENT OF ENVIRONMENTAL AFFAIRS AND DEVELOPMENT PLANNING CONDITION THAT REQUIRES A 50% REDUCTION IN THE AMOUNT OF ORGANIC WASTE THAT ARE DISPOSED TO WASTE DISPOSAL FACILITIES (WDFs) BY 2022, FOLLOWED BY A COMPLETE BAN OF ORGANICS TO WDF’s BY YEAR 2027. GROOTKOP WDF – OUDTSHOORN IS A CLASS B FACILITY: (G:M:B-) G: GENERAL WASTE, M: MEDIUM SIZE FACILITY WHICH RECEIVES BETWEEN 25 AND 150 TONNES OF WASTE PER DAY (EQUALS ± 3000 TON PER MONTH), B: NO LEACHATE. THE FOOTPRINT IS 16.5 HECTARES AND IN SIZE 109 937m²)
